Old meets new in this full turn-key renovation in which a traditional three-storey shophouse in Singapore was transformed from its previous incarnation, a dark and drab office, into a bright and airy contemporary space. This called for a top office designer in Singapore.
The building was stripped back to the bones to focus on the rich architecture, which includes beautiful arched stained-glass windows.
First impressions count so contemporary ‘invisible’ mirrored glass reception counters on the ground floor set the scene. A sleek and sophisticated gallery aesthetic was evoked with a clean white backdrop acting as a canvas for the floating artwork and photography, and the pared-back look is completed with polished concrete floors. Glass panels separate the office space, while allowing light from the central atrium to flood through, and the design focused on clean-lined contemporary furniture to enhance the modern feel. The indoor outdoor ambience of the atrium is emphasised with the planting of a five-metre-high tree, adding a dramatic focal point as well as elevating the sense of wellbeing.
